Cellist Maggie Parkins is a versatile performer in solo, chamber and orchestral concerts and festivals throughout North America and Europe. She has toured and recorded with accordionist Guy Klucevsek and in the Zeena Parkins Group and can be heard on the Avan, Tzadik, Victo and New Jersey Composers Guild labels. Margaret has appeared at the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, the Banff Centre, Festival Internacional de Música de Cadaqués, Heidelberg Castle Festival, Spoleto, Taos, the Bach Arts Festival, and Tanglewood. As a member of the Stonybrook Piano Trio, she was a prizewinner in the Fischoff National Chamber Music competition. In New York, Maggie performed with the Brooklyn Philharmonic, the Syracuse Symphony, the Jazz Passengers and the Anthony Braxton Ensemble. In Los Angeles, she has performed as a member of the Los Angeles Mozart Orchestra and the LA Master Chorale. She is professor of cello at University of California at Irvine and Irvine Valley College and is also a member of the Robin Cox Ensemble, the Eclipse Quartet and Quatracelli. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, she has a doctorate from State University of New York at Stony Brook.
